He’s so cute! And he’s back! Those of you with fond memories of Croc’s first PSX outing will recall that by the end of that game, the evil Baron Dante had been defeated, King Rufus had been rescued from the Tower of Terror, and the Gobbos were free. Everything was back to normal in Gobbo Valley and young Croc was a hero.
However, the Dantinis, Baron Dante’s wicked little minions, were plotting the return of the evil one. Meanwhile, Croc and the Gobbos, blissfully unaware, carried on having their fun in the valley, playing around in their carefree way, until Croc finds a message in a bottle, signed with a baby crocodile footprint. Whoever sent the message writes that they are looking for their long-lost son. Croc, of course, doesn’t expect foul play. Meanwhile, the Baron and his Dantinis have resumed their reign of terror in the valley, stealing mascot birds and the wheels from the Gobbos’ racing car. To progress through the game, and its myriad sub-games, tasks are set out for Croc to perform, such as retrieving the wheels of the aforementioned car, but it doesn’t play like your average platformer. You have the opportunity to perform them in an order of your choosing. Perform all tasks and collect the available crystals, and you can pay a visit to Swap Meet Pete’s store (there’s one in all four villages, folks), to use your Crystal Charge Card to buy power-ups.
